Looking Ahead to Blueberries, Blueberry Pie, & Blueberry Art Festival in Ely
Join Lacey as she learns all about blueberries in eager anticipation of blueberry season in the north woods. Specifically, we hear from Larry & Sue Smith who tell us all about the Ely Kiwanis Club blueberry pie sales that take place as part of the Ely Chamber of Commerce Blueberry/Art Festival. We’ll also learn about the role of blueberries in Ojibwe community and culture thanks to the insights of our guest Ryan Bajan, a tribally endorsed Ojibwe Language and Culture Instructor. Lastly, we’ll hear from photographer Chris Ellerbroek about the joys of blueberry picking with kids, as well as an exciting Ely Tourism Bureau media project.
